![]() ![]() ![]() The Balter house was built in 1963 and the Blum house in 1965. Blum, they chose to keep their co-owned land private. He presented this idea which he named, “TreeTops and Mountain Circles” to Mr. Peter had a vision to create a Usonian style community development plan with shared common areas and 5 acre lots for each homeowner. They purchased 130 acres of farm land in Westmoreland County, with views of the Chestnut Ridge Mountain and untouched forest. There are several parts to make the “whole” of what the public recognizes today as Polymath Park.ġ960's-The Balter and Blum families from Pittsburgh, both entrepreneurs, retained Peter Berndston to design two summer houses for them in the mountains in the early 60’s.
